What is the Game?

Hosted by the Concordia Food Coalition, we’ve created an interactive map – and educational experience! – designed to engage students with the history and significance of the food movement at Concordia University.

You can play our game by visiting a selection of checkpoints and art landmarks on Concordia campus that reference milestones from the Concordia Food Movement.

These checkpoints serve as guideposts for a self-directed walking food tour, where players will uncover stories, facts, and further readings about the food movement through QR codes linked to this interactive map. 

Players who complete entire tour by visiting the majority of our checkpoints (and the art landmark!) are be eligible to win gift cards to student run food groups on campus, like the Hive Cafe or Frigo Vert! Prizes will be announced every Friday in September. Winners can visit the weekly Farmers Market (Wednesdays 3-6pm outside 1400 de Maisonneuve W) to collect their prize!

The Rules:

1.Sign in to the map checkpoints using the QR codes at the sites to collect points: Players must sign in or register at each designated checkpoint along the food tour to accumulate points. 

2.While the primary focus is on the art landmarks, special emphasis will be placed on encouraging players to explore checkpoints that do not have art installations. These checkpoints may provide additional information, activities, or challenges related to the Concordia Food Movement.

3.Each checkpoint (with or without art landmarks) will be marked with a physical pin or marker, clearly indicating its presence. Players should be able to easily locate and identify checkpoints throughout the campus.

4.At the end of each week, during the allotted time period, prizes will be awarded based on players who have collected the most points!
